Thai and Fly is a therapeutic modality that is a blend of Thai massage and partner/ acro yoga. In this workshop we will learn the basics of therapeutic flying, using a human prop to invert or "float" upon all while being stretched and massaged.
As a base or "giver" you will learn how to safely lift your flyer or "reciever" and use Acro yoga/ Thai massage techniques to help elongate the spine, relieve muscles, free stuck energy, bringing about greater fluidity and range of motion to the body. Following therapeutic flying, we will come back down to earth and learn how to give Thai yoga aka Thai massage, a sacred form of bodywork, used to decompress the body and relieve tension while balancing the mind, body and spirit.
This workshop will focus on the therapeutic side of acrobatic yoga. Unlike "solar" acrobatic yoga where the flyer is engaged, "lunar" therapeutic acrobatic yoga encourages your flyer to be passive thus bringing more of a restorative quality to the practice. Like floating on a Thai massage cloud.
Come learn how to take yogic techniques to the next level and pick each other up, both body and spirit. Partner Yoga is also a great way to channel that inner child like innocence and just have fun!
